Fin Jacobs dun dun dun....

One day Fin will fly onto the airbag on a board :)
Fin Jacobs is a gnarly awesome skateboarder but he ski's so on speaking to a gnarly snowboarder a snowboard lesson was arranged. To be honest I don't know who was more excited about it and as was predicted Fin kicked ass and did awesome. He was stoked, Natalie was stoked, everyone was stoked (well except the skiiers!!) and he's coming back for more :) Has Fin seen the light? can he be turned into a gnarly snowboarder? I think it's possible oh for sure it is and Fin has offered to give Natalie skateboard lessons stoked.

Wed 29th September....

Well what can I say really, Wednesday was set to be a busy rad day at the slope with lot's going on, what happens.... we all awake to the worst wind and rain we have had in a while, boo to you weather gods!! We don't mind the rain so much as it makes the slope nice and fast but it's the wind, oh don't get me started on the wind.

We saw RGU and Aberdeen Universities in for their annual meet and greet, racking up new members for their snowsports clubs with some ski and snowboard taster sessions being ran and an open session for those who already have the skillz to come down and shred. The weather didn't seem to put a dampener on their spirits and considering the conditions a pretty good turn out was had. Let's hope to see the students back as a regular appearance at the slope.

Following the day time antics of the students the night was for the Burton and Forum board test, unfortunately we had a poor turn out and I'm going to put this down to the weather putting people off the bunch of wuss's as by 7 o'clock the wind had died down and the conditions were pretty good.

Simon was down from Boarderline helping out the rep guy from Burton, with a steady flow of people testing out the boards and bindings on offer. Andy Duthie was the most stoked on testing out Burtons boards and was killing it it was non stop for him he had that adrenaline running through him all night and doing the cleanest 5 we've seen him do on return to the slope then thought why not I'll go for 7's and came pretty close on some and a front flip, wowzers.

Nicol, Chris Mahony, Emmet and Natalie were there representing the Boarderline snow team with Ben Kinnear still away and Barry P down in Glasgow doing his level 1 ski instructor course, they were both missed.

Overall all despite the turn out and the weather a pretty rad session was had, Fin and Keilan Bremner killing it and all the others doing some sick moves while testing out the boards and bindings, let's hope they come back next year.

He has been loving riding at the mat again and can't seem to get enough of it. A regular feature at the slope once again. The return of....

ALLY GRAY....

A couple weeks ago Ally headed up to Aberdeen to have a slide at Garthdizzle, after a good few months of not been on his board he was stoked to get back on it getting used to riding dryslope again. By the end of the night he was throwing his steezy corked 5's off the kicker. Unfortunatelly his radstorm team mates were all away surfing apart from Natalie who was there to greet him but no worries we shall shred together soooon. Stoked your back Ally, we've all missed you and hopefully you'll make it up to ride again soon.

Fans

So Ed Bruce who has been learning to snowboard at the slope, getting lessons with his friend Ross from the one and only Barry P has made up a poster advertising what we offer, I like it so am posting it up for all to see....

Westbeach Goes Off....

The Westbeach Snowflex Series headed up to Aberdeen for the first time and guess what they think our dryslope is one of the best in the UK, something that all local riders have known just people don't like to head so far North to see it's amazingness.

It is the best comp that has been held at the slope, well organised, talented riders good atmosphere, just an awesome day. Highlight was Kris Bell going for the backside 1080, so so so close to stomping it and guess what he stomped it on Wed night, he had that adrenaline running through him going for it again and again, he was KILLING IT!!

RIDER OF THE MONTH

Rider of the month

What is rider of the month?

Rider of the month will be an ongoing competition with a skier and snowboarder being chosen each month as the overall best rider of that month.

How will it be judged?

Riders will be judged on their overall progression throughout the month. They will also be chosen for having a good attitude and the ability to get others stoked simply by watching them.

So, who will be judging?

Nobody will know who is judging. Judges will be chosen each month but must keep it a secret until the end of the month. A different judge or judges will be chosen every month.

Will there be any prizes?

Of course there will be prizes. The best riders of the month will each get a t-shirt designed by our very own Natalie Riley. Furthermore they will each get a photo to be displayed in the log cabin.

Sounds good but, how much will it cost?

There will be no added cost; just the usual slope entrance fee

Starting This October...
